I love how all the Republicans bitch about American schools having a liberal bias when my fourth grade sister is being taught about: George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. No Clinton (nevermind that that was like, the highlight of American economics and life in general), no Carter, no Kennedy/Johnson (civil rights, anyone?).

This is horrible. The fact that we as a country are not doing anything about it because we're too busy trying to get Iraq's oil is even worse. It's disgusting. We should be in Sudan, taking care of this and their slavery trade, not in Iraq stealing their oil.
How can you learn about something like that and not say something? How can you not protest? How can you just sit back and watch it all happen? Because you think the war in Iraq is making YOUR fucking country safer? Guess what? It's not even doing that. Meanwhile people are being raped and murdered and who cares because they're not us? Who cares, it's in fucking Africa, no one gives a fuck about Africa.
It's disgusting. America is fucking disgusting. We should all be fucking ashamed of ourselves. I know I'm disgusted at a county that just sits back and watches as people get killed, yet claims they stand for freedom and human rights for all in order to GET OIL.
Well, get the fuck up and DO something about this. Donate if you can afford it. Write to the UN. Write to your fucking senator. Write to someone. Make other people aware of it. Do SOMETHING.

What really REALLY gets me about the Schiavo case is, the fact that people don't realize that even if she is more than an empty piece of meat at this point, even if her soul is trapped in there, she must be fucking miserable.
I mean... one of the most important things for a human is interaction with other humans. It's been scientifically proven. It's extremely important to the human psyche to have communication with others. Without other people, we sorta... go crazy. I mean, hermits choose to do it, but when you look at the Genie case... (girl was kept away from society for 13 years because her parents had her chained to a potty. Happened in the 70s.) we need other people in order to survive. We need to have someone to talk to, and someone to listen to. We need love. We need touch.
The poor woman does not have that. The poor woman can't communicate. She can only hear what people are saying, and god knows when the last time anyone even bothered to talk to her WAS. Would you talk to some irresponsive doll that's been sitting on a bed for 15 years after a while? I wonder if her parents talk to her. I wonder how, if they do, they can bear to look at her and see what she's become. And still they want to keep her "alive". Even if there's a soul in there, the "life" this woman is leading is no life at all.
I believe that people have a right to live and DIE. I'm sorry, but death rights are extremely overlooked now a days. We should be fighting for those a hell of a lot more than we are. Death is not a bad thing people. Sometimes it's better to die than to live miserable. It's better to die than to be stuck in a bed unable to fucking blink, much less do anything else. It's better to die a fetus than to be born to die in a trash can or out in the cold. It's better to die quickly than to die slowly because your body is inevitably wearing away. DEATH IS NOT A BAD THING. It's bad when it doesn't have a reason. It's bad when it cuts a productive, relatively happy life short. It's NOT bad at ALL when it puts an end to suffering and pain. And I mean real suffering and pain, not the emo materialistic shit even I whine about. I mean you're dying anyway, but it's slow and you can FEEL it. Or you're a vegetable unable to move, or communicate, or possibly even THINK. I think if you're going do die, and you want to die pleasantly, it's your fucking right to choose to do so. It's your life and no one else's. If you're fully in your right mind, and you don't want to live, you shouldn't have to.
PEOPLE don't get that. Christians have got it in their heads that death=negative. NO WHERE IN THE BIBLE DOES IT FUCKING SAY THAT. Even Catholics, who are somewhat more laid back than they get credit for, have this stuck in their heads. You can't blame them, because it's something that comes from very far up... last Sunday when we were doing the prayers, the lector prayed against abortion and euthanasia. I did not ask god for that. I did not say "lord hear our prayer" because He knows how I feel about that, and if he is worth anything, then he agrees. No god would be so cruel.
People say they shouldn't take Terri Schiavo's tubes out because that means she starves and dehydrates to death, and that's horrible. You know what? It is. They should just do her a favor and put her out of her misery quickly. Euthanize her. Even my father said it. Of course they would never do that, it's controversial as it is, but keeping her alive just seems like such a cruel thing to do. That feels like sin, to me. I think when god decides to go, you go. I think if Terry hadn't had all those tubes, she would have gone, and I think THAT was god's will then. Keeping someone alive by having them hooked up to all kinds of machinery when they should naturally be dead is as much "playing god" as cloning or stem cell research are. But in a much more cruel and selfish way. It doesn't help anyone. It only takes up hospital equiptment and space and money. Nevermind how much that poor person suffers, how much pain they feel.
But that's the thing with conservatives. They feel their religion and sense of what is right and wrong is higher up than personal choice. They would take away our free will, if it would make us all fit into their idea of what a good person/Christian is. And the right panders to them, because there are so many. And the left is too fucking polite to really speak up for ourselves and our freedom of choice the way we SHOULD. I'm not talking scary radical actions like bombing Fox News HQ. I'm talking actually SHOCKING people and not being afraid to. I'm talking not picking someone who won't scare the moderates to run for President. LET THE MODERATES BE FUCKING AFRAID. THEY SHOULD BE. Bush wasn't afraid to use scare tactics, neither should the left. AND OURS ARE TRUE. All we have to say is, THIS MAN WANTS TO TAKE AWAY YOUR ABILITY TO RUN YOUR OWN GODDAMN LIFE. THIS MAN WANTS TO CONTROL YOUR CHOICES, YOUR DECISIONS AND YOUR THOUGHTS. Maybe he's only targetting homosexuals, or pregnant women, or non Christians. And maybe, just maybe, you're a Catholic white, straight male. But what when he decides that you shouldn't be allowed to be Catholic? He's not. Or what if he decides he doesn't like the music you like? What when he decides it should be banned?
Let the fuckers be scared. They should be.

ON THE FUCKING STREETS if I have to.

It's sad that they don't realize that if Jesus were around, he'd be more displeased with them than he would with the gays and liberals they hate so much.
Remember people, Jesus was the victim of persecution. He was a leftist, at his time, because he didn't agree with a lot of the things that were going on back then. Remember he stuck up for all the pariahs and the people who were looked down on and underdogs? Or does everyone conviniently forget that?
Jesus was an amazing man. It's sad that his followers warp his words and ideas so much, it really is. The Christian churches of today are definately not what he would have wanted. Whatever happened to "Love thy neighbor" and "don't judge others"?
I myself am not a Christian, but I don't hate all of them. I feel sorry for a lot of them. I feel sorry for the religion in general. It's so sad to see something that could be so beautiful ruined by people with good intentions. As a matter of fact, I don't really hate any of them. I just want to kick some of them in the face for ruining something so beautiful, and making it look so ugly. Maybe that makes me a better Christian than they are, even if I'm not one. The fact that I don't hate them, even if I disagree with their ideas and actions.
Oh, and morons, Allah IS the same thing as God, it's just in another language. Are you going to try to tell me that Spanish Christians don't believe in the same bloody god you do because they call him "Dios"?
Really, the ignorance is so depressing. Islam came from the same roots as Christianity, Judaism.
There's another beautiful religion warped into something ugly and malicious. It's so sad. And you know what's even sadder? That deep down it all comes down to politics. Religion and politics are forever bound, no matter how much church and state are sepparated.

I feel bad for our soldiers, and for the Iraqi Civilians. You have to hand it to Clinton though, he knows how to handle money-matters way better than Bush does. 9_9 This is not the time for a war. We're broke, and have like, billions of dollars in national debt. All that money that could be going to other things is going to finance this war.
What makes me even angrier is that North Korea is sitting there waving at us being like "HII! We are going to NUKE YOU! :DDD" and we're completely ignoring them, and here Iraq is minding its own business for the most part, and we're threating to blow them up for things we haven't even proved. I'm almost proud of the Iraqis for burning their oil fields. Yes, it's a waste of oil, but you know that's the only reason we're attacking anyway, at heart. It reminds me of back in the days of wooden war ships, when generals would burn their boats so the enemy wouldn't be able to take them and use them against them. They burned their oil as a personal "FUCK YOU" to Bush. Good for them. I'd do it too.
Bush is an insult to democracy, the way he ignores the voice of the people so openly. That's what a REPUBLIC is, a THING OF THE PEOPLE. RE PUBLICA. Re=Thing, Publica=The people. Obviously Bush never studied Latin, or law, or history, and obviously, he didn't study BUSINESS. Not to mention, protests are very important, and I support protestors. I want to go to a protest, with a big FUCK YOU BUSH on my T-shirt, and a picket sign. I never stand up for the pledge to the flag anymore. As a matter of fact, I make it a point to sit down if I'm standing up, saying "Protest" while I'm at it.
Vietnam was hated because the media showed everyone what a horrible cruel pointless thing war is. I think we need more media coverage for this war, if anything, since everyone seems to have forgotten that murder is wrong, and war is only about murder. The people need to know, because the government is our servant, and we need to know what our servant is doing. We pay it to serve us, and we need to know what we are paying it for. If the media had no right to coverage, then we would not be a democracy.
And I don't care if it makes anyone mad. Everyone on my friends list knows what the purpose of this journal is, and they don't have to read it if they don't want to.

Are the people of Iraq somehow subhuman nonenties? Like, you know, those drone-guards in video games that just walk back and forth and do nothing else at all and you just blow them up and keep going? I wonder if ammo and money and food pops up after some of the Iraqi bodies, that you just walk over, and tada, you pick it up and gain ammo or health points?
That's what everyone seems to be acting like. All this big deal because WOW, two American Soldiers died. And yes, while that's bad because they're HUMAN I love how we don't even THINK about all the Iraqi people getting killed, as though it doesn't matter. And then we bitch because they cheat, when we're the ones ATTACKING THEM. Well, I'm sorry, if my home gets attacked, I refuse to play "by the rules". Especially if it's someone bigger and stronger, and my only real advantage is that I have much better knowledge of the territory.
I just hope they find something in Iraq. I wouldn't be surprised if something conviniently popped up, which is missing from the American arsenal and has directions in ENGLISH.
Bush, get out of the fucking White House. You SUCK. You can't even speak proper English, and you're killing our economy.

Fuck September 11. We got what we have been asking for. America was as much a victim as a bitchy annoying little kid getting a smack in the face is. Unfortunately, we didn't seem to get the "shut up, sit down, and mind your own fucking business, assholes!" message like we should have.
And the deaths? They were not "American" deaths. They were HUMAN DEATHS. and THAT was bad. But so were Hiroshima and Nagasaki, so was that wedding party that the Americans recently bombed, so were many things. It all comes down to humanity. No one CHOSES to be born an American, or a Pakistani, or an Afghan, or a Jew. We are what we are. We should not feel special for what we are, but we should also not be punished for it.
Yes, I hate Osama Bin Laden, there is no doubt of that. But Bush is no way or form better than Osama Bin Laden. They're BOTH self-righteous, racist, manipulative assholes who need to be knocked off their golden pedestals. Neither is better than the other. The American government is no better than the Taliban. To say we are justified in bombing the Middle East shitless because they attacked first is the equivalent of two five year olds getting in a fight, and one pointing a finger and going "BUT HE STAAAAAARTED IIIIIT!". Remember kidlets, two wrongs don't make a right. That's what BOTH Bin Laden and Bush are acting like. Spoiled little brats who need to be spanked and timed out. I for one, wish the rest of the world would just go on and take of its belt, and hit them both so hard (with the buckle!) they FUCKING BLEED TO DEATH. But they can't.
